Parmesan Rosemary Popcorn: The Perfect Holiday Movie Snack

Hey, friends! I hope your Monday was a good one. Can you believe that Thanksgiving is this Thursday?! The holiday season has really snuck up on us!

I've been watching WAY too many Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel recently. I absolutely love cheesy Christmas movies where everything turns out the way it's supposed to be. It makes me smile! It's the simple things, right?

With all of the Christmas movies we'll all be watching from now until Christmas day, it's nice to have a healthy movie snack to munch on! Popcorn is high in fiber and low in calories, making it the perfect choice. You can eat a pretty good amount of popcorn without "breaking the calorie bank" so it's great for munching on throughout those long Christmas movies. Don't get me wrong, if you're buying the pre-made popcorn packets that are filled with butter and sodium, you're not doing yourself any favors in terms of your health. BUT making homemade popcorn is seriously SO easy and you're able to control exactly how much of each topping you put on.

With that being said, I've experimented a little bit with some popcorn recipes, and I think I found the PERFECT combination...

Parmesan Rosemary Popcorn

The recipe for Parmesan Rosemary Popcorn is so simple, but it's so dang tasty! You'll be craving this all throughout the holiday season and well after it ends. You most likely already have the ingredients you need in your kitchen.

The Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup popcorn kernels
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon freshly grated parmesan

The Directions:

  1. Combine the rosemary, garlic powder, salt, and parmesan into a blender or food processor.

  2. Blend on high for a few seconds until large chunks are made into a powder consistency.

  3. Put warm popcorn into a paper bag (the large lunch bags work well).

  4. Drizzle melted coconut oil over popcorn.

  5. Close the bag and shake to distribute the oil.

  6. Sprinkle the popcorn seasoning over the popcorn.

  7. Close the bag and shake to evenly coat the popcorn.

  8. Pour into a large popcorn bowl and enjoy!

If you don't already have a popcorn maker, I use THIS ONE and absolutely love it. It's so easy to work with, and I've had it for about two years and it still works great. It'd be a great Christmas gift for the foodie in your life :)

I hope you'll give this recipe a try! Enjoy!
