Happy Friday, friends! Can you believe it's already September 9th? Time is flying. I swear, the older I get, the faster that time goes. Can anyone else relate?
We're slowly adjusting over here at the Ferguson household with Lola's diabetes diagnosis and vision loss. As I type this, she's at the vet for her second blood glucose curve. Crossing my fingers that her levels have come down (this would mean we're getting her diabetes under control)! The sooner we get her stabilized, the sooner we can schedule cataract surgery to get her vision back. I (along with the rest of my family) cannot wait for her to be able to see again. Here's silly Miss Lola on her way to her blood glucose curve appointment...
She looks pretty comfy, doesn't she? Unfortunately, she has to wear that cone for a little bit. She has an ulcer (from rubbing her eyes) in her right eye, and we can't take the chance of her aggravating it even more. Hoping it heals soon because that gal does not like wearing that cone. I mean, who would?
Anyways, I thought that I would stop by today with my favorites of this week! I feel like I haven't done a Friday Favorites post in a bit, so it's time to share my favorites with you again :) Let's dive right into it!
1. Honeycrisp Apples
Ooooh, honeycrisp apples, I wait for you all summer long. My mom, dad, and I went to Linvilla Orchards this past weekend to pick up some of these delicious, oh-so-wonderful apples. I'm not kidding when I tell you they taste like candy to me - they're that good. If you've never had a honeycrisp apple, please, please, please do yourself a favor and go to a local orchard or your grocery store and get yourself one (or ten) of these apples! You'll be hooked, I swear.
2. My Egg Muffins Recipe
These babies have been a lifesaver this past week with how busy we've been with the dogs. If you didn't catch the recipe on Monday, make sure to check it out! This recipe is perfect to make on a Sunday so you have breakfast prepped and ready to go for the upcoming week. Have kids you have to get out the door, or are you one to skip breakfast because your rushing to work? This recipe is for you!
3. Sweet's Candy Corn
Soooo, while at Target with my mom earlier this week we spotted the Halloween candy section. I know, I know it's only early September, but sometimes a girl really can't help herself. This candy corn is better than the average with non-GMO ingredients and no artificial flavors. Don't get me wrong, this candy corn isn't healthy haha, but it's a better choice than the typical brand. It's even colored with fruit and vegetable extracts like pumpkin, carrot, and apple instead of food dye. You're probably thinking that there's no way this brand tastes like actual candy corn, but it does, I promise! Here's what the bag looks like so you can easily spot it on your next Target trip :)
4. Sweet Nel's
If you live in the Delaware area, please do yourself a favor and go to Sweet Nel's. We went there last weekend for dessert and OH MY GOODNESS it was magical. Sweet Nel's just recently opened up and it's really a one-of-a-kind type of place. They have organic ice cream, gourmet coffee, and baked goods and gelato that are made on site. The ice cream comes from Nelson's Dutch Organic Country Organic Ice Cream and is made right here in the Delaware Valley from local, organic milk and cream. I indulged quite a bit there and got myself a Schmooshie which is one scoop of ice cream (I chose cinnamon caramel swirl) schmooshed between 2 WARM cookies (chocolate chip or peanut butter, your choice) and then rolled in any dry ingredients you want - chocolate chips or any type of nut! Is your mouth watering yet? Unfortunately I didn't snap a picture of my delicious dessert because I was too eager to eat it, sorry guys! But, it's safe to say we'll be making a trip back there very, very, very soon so I'll make sure to get a few pictures ;P
5. Mrs. Meyer's Apple Cider Dish Soap
Last but certainly NOT least is Mrs. Meyer's apple cider dish soap. Guys, I'm embarrassed to say that I've been to Target 4 different days this week in hopes of finding this stuff. It's FLYING off the shelves at my Target (I also have suspicions that there's an apple cider soap hoarder who comes and just buys it all), and yesterday I scored the LAST dish soap they had. I know, I sound like a huge nerd raving about dish soap, but guys, this stuff smells like fall in a bottle. I'll be ordering the hand soap and countertop spray on the Target website too because it's that good. Other than the delicious smell, I really like Mrs. Meyer's products because they're made without parabens, phthalates, glycol solvents, chlorine, formaldehyde, AND artificial colors. Instead, they're made with plant derived ingredients, essential oils, aloe vera, glycerin, and soap bark extract. You go, Mrs. Meyers! They also have a Mum scent out right now that is also absolutely magical. Please do yourself a favor and go to your nearest Target (or just order online) and get yourself a bottle (or five) of this wonderful fall soap. It's the little things, guys, yanno? ;P
That's it for my favorites of this week! Thank you guys so much for reading, it means a lot. I would love, love, love to hear your answer to the question of the day in the comments! I love to chat with you all and would love for it to happen more!
Question of the Day: What's something that you're loving this week?
Have a fun and relaxing weekend, friends!
